Welcome to the home of the North Oakville Men's Touch Football Association
North Oakville Men's Touch Football Association STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES
The NOMTFA Summer/Fall League was formed in 1981, with the addition of a Winter League in 2003. The founding Executive formulated and adopted principles on which to base League operations. These principles are subject to change from time to time as decided upon by the League Executive.
The main purpose of the North Oakville Men’s Touch Football Association (hereinafter referred to as NOMTFA) is to promote fun and friendship in Oakville and surrounding communities through touch football played by men at or over the age of 30 years.
NOMTFA is an independent, self-supporting group. However, this does not preclude seeking donations or sponsorships from companies for trophies, League equipment or other items.
NOMTFA will not attempt to produce a surplus through League operations or any other NOMTFA events. Events not directly related to touch football will be priced so as to generate sufficient surplus to fund the League’s initial financial needs in the following season of operation. Surplus from such events will be used only to defray costs of League operations.
In order to promote even and fair competition, players will be redrafted on a fair and equitable basis before each season.
In the further interest of promoting fun and friendship, there will not be any selection of All-Stars in NOMTFA.
To encourage full participation, every player on every team must play at least half of every game that he attends. Playing both ways is not permitted unless the team is under its full complement of players, and no player is to be denied the equivalent of full playing time on either offence or defence. This applies to all regular League games and playoff games.
Player registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that applicants have submitted fees, registration forms and signed waivers by the registration deadline.
Notwithstanding the principle that players have attained the age of 30 years, NOMTFA will consider applications from prospective players between the ages of 25 and 30 on the following basis:
Such applicants must provide proof of age through a government-issued identification document, as well as fees, registration forms and signed waivers by the registration deadline.
In the event that playing spots are available after the registration deadline, applicants between the ages of 25 and 30 who have met the above criteria will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Players below the age of 30 whose applications are accepted will in subsequent seasons be deemed to have attained the age of 30 and be subject only to the entry provision as set out above.
Playing or other conduct infractions may lead to disciplinary measures, up to and including suspension or expulsion from NOMTFA, with such sanctions to be determined at the sole discretion of the Executive.
